On Wednesday night Antonio Cromartie and LaRon Landry were named to the 2012 AFC Pro-Bowl roster. Both of these players had excellent years for Gang Green and played vital roles on defense.
Antonio Cromartie- In the wake of Darrelle Revis’ injury Cromartie took his game to the next level as he routinely covered the opposition’s #1 receiver. Antonio remained consistent in coverage and did his part against the run. Antonio Cromartie also took on a bit of a leadership role which caught many by surprise. Remember the days when Jets fans were begging for Nnamdi Asomugha over Cromartie?
LaRon Landry- The Jets were in desperate need of an enforcer in the secondary and hard hitting safety LaRon Landry quickly filled that role. Landry is arguably one of the most physical safeties in the NFL as he consistently pounds on the opposing team’s ball carriers. The biggest concern with LaRon was his ability to stay healthy, but the safety has been available to play every Sunday. Now the question is whether or not the Jets will be able to re-sign LaRon who is slated to become a free agent.
