Finally, after months of analysis, rumors, and speculation the 2014 NFL draft has arrived. On Thursday night the festivities kick off and for fans of the New York Jets it will be like Christmas as Gang Green enters the draft with 12 picks. The Jets will be looking to address several positions with an emphasis on adding dynamic playmakers, while improving overall team speed and depth.
Listed below are some of New York’s positions of need and a link to analysis by scout and talent evaluator Ron Pickett.
New York Jets general manager John Idzik has taken a pragmatic approach to free agency which has placed a premium on this draft. Idzik is expected to stay true to his board and to select the best players available regardless of the position. For the sake of developing sustainable success lets hope that the Jets gm lands at least 4 or 5 productive players in this class.
